There's no question about it.
Whether you want to believe it or not...the gap in skills between girls and boys basketball is narrowing. And nowhere was it more evident than with the state tournaments for both boys and girls played at Ohio State's Schottenstein Center over the past two weekends.
Whether you saw the amazing shooting touch of Jonathan Alder's All-Ohio junior, Laura Prochaska, or the sheer power and dominance of North College Hill's Bill Walker...you had to come away believing that each in their own way were equally impactful on the outcome of this year's championships in Ohio high school basketball.
For her part, Prochaska has scored 1,940 points in just three seasons at Jonathan Alder. While South Webter's Nick Aldrich and North College Hill's O.J. Mayo became the 36th and 37th players respectively in the history of Ohio high school basketball to eclipse the 2,000 point mark in their career...and each did it during the state tournament.
FanFile was there to record the best of the best, from Ohio's marquee players during state tournament action in Columbus. And if you missed it, make it a point to be there next year...'cause a lot of these kids are juniors. It was good stuff. "Starry" days...and "starry" nights!
