A note to all those who look for photos on the FanFile site...and haven't found what you're looking for!

It finally came to fruition last week...the long-awaited and badly needed upgrade of the FanFile photo archives.

I say badly needed because our former program for uploading photos to the site was time-consuming, confusing and lacking in flexibility. But that was an issue for us to deal with...not one for those of you who just wanted to see the photos of games and events we cover.

When I say long-awaited...it does deal with the viewing public because there were too many issues with the former system. The images were too small. It was confusing to distinguish dates and which file to look in for a specific event. It was above all else slow...and annoying for people to wait while their computer loaded the individual images for viewing. It was bad...but it was the best we had when we put the site together three years ago.

Now...and this is important...after three months the makeover of our new system for photo archiving is completed, and yes, we probably have alienated some people who just got tired of looking and searching for images. But, we think you'll find the wait and frustration will have been worth it when you check out the upgrade just completed.

We will no longer list area school files on the front page. That was one more slowdown and link that needed to be avoided. Instead, when you click on the archive link you will now be instantly transferred to the View Events page where you can quickly and chronologically search for the the game and/or school you seek.

You'll also find the images are bigger on the view page. And yes, you can still click and get a yet bigger image that's sharper and a better indicator of overall quality should you wish to order an enlargement of 8x10 or more. That's an important feature if you wish to order big prints!

In addition, your order will now be 100% printed, handled and shipped in-house from FanFile, ensuring delivery in a fraction of the time of the previous system. And, of course, your credit card information will be perfectly secured...for those who are more prone to worry. You should worry...but not with FanFile!

Lastly, we have already uploaded many of the games and events that did not show up previously, and will continue to do so for the next few weeks to come. If you do not find the game you seek, let us know by e-mail and we'll let you know when to expect it...or whether to expect it.

This is a major improvement to the FanFile site and service that we hope a benefit to you...and one you will enjoy using. Again, our apologies for your frustration and inconvenience of the past...but, we think you'll find the wait has been worth it!
